THIS DECEMBER, INDIE LENS POP-UP BRINGS A SPECIAL PRESENTATION OF AUTISM IN LOVE

Documentary Is a Rare Glimpse into the Emotional Lives of Adults
on the Autism Spectrum

* MIDLAND/ODESSA SCREENING TO FEATURE Q&A WITH LOCAL EXPERTS & DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES FROM THOSE AFFECTED BY THE SPECTRUM FROM WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY *

(Permian Basin, Texas)— Indie Lens Pop-Up, presented by the Independent Television Service (ITVS), Independent Lens, and Basin PBS (basinpbs.org), is excited to offer an advance screening of Autism in Love, a film by Matt Fuller. Community partners for this event are MARC and Midland Community Theatre.

In Autism in Love, four adults at different places on the autism spectrum open up their personal lives as they navigate dating and romantic relationships. Eye-opening, first-person portrayals show that despite many challenges faced by those with autism, love can find a way. Through these stories, we see that autism isn’t a one-size-fits-all disorder, and just like neurotypical people (those without developmental disabilities), those on the spectrum also experience the complexity, heartache, and joy that all come when making a romantic connection. Autism in Love was called “affectionate but clear-eyed” by The Hollywood Reporter, and premieres on Independent Lens Monday, January 11 at 9pm on Basin PBS.
