Hi, neighbor! You're invited to a very special day with Basin PBS. It's the Back to School Festival, Saturday, August 9th from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Bush Convention Center in downtown Midland. Look forward to fun activities, and the first 500 will take home a free school supply kits - plus you can meet Daniel Tiger and explore his neighborhood! Join Basin PBS for a grr-ific day of family fun, learning, and community connection at our annual Back to School Festival!
This free, family-friendly event is designed to help children across the Permian Basin start the school year with confidenceāand joy! With support from ATMOS Energy and Southwest 66 Credit Union, weāll be distributing 500 school supply kits to local kids while providing a wide variety of engaging activities and helpful community resources.
š Whatās Happening at the Festival?
Come meet Daniel Tigerās Neighborhood, and explore themed zones full of discovery and fun:
š Art Avenue ā Get creative with hands-on crafts
š² Kidās Corner ā Play games and enjoy interactive activities
š Snack Street ā Grab food and drinks for the whole family
š§āāļø Wellness Way ā Explore healthy habits, yoga, and fitness fun
š Literacy Lane ā Pick out free books and educational materials to take home
Plus, connect with 30+ local nonprofit organizations offering resources and support for children and families in our region.
š Itās a day full of learning, laughter, and loveāfor families, by families.
Admission is free. Supplies are limitedāfirst come, first served.
